As you know, I have taken an extended leave since the end of the summer as I gave birth to a baby girl. I am planning on picking up where I left off in the new year, providing you as always with interesting blog posts, news from the net, etc. I will also slowly be back coaching starting mid January. Contact me here if you want to book a free intro session, or to pick up where we left off.
You might remember that functional medicine sees the human body as a tree. When your roots are shaky, you cannot flourish; dealing only with the symptoms (the leaves, the branches) when you don't have that solid base, will only get you that far.
And this is what happened to me during the past few months. The early months of motherhood feel like someone has grabbed you and tossed you in the middle of a tornado. The ride can be fun and you might enjoy it, but it feels like you aren't really standing on your own two feet. Sleep? Ha. Stress? Ha ha. Exercise? if you consider picking up and rocking baby, sure. Relationships? no time to really preserve/build them. Nutrition? this one was not toooo bad, but I have much less time to cook. Bottom line: the roots of my tree were shaky. And boy did I feel it.
As a coach, I can tell you - pretty much everyone can benefit from coaching, including myself. Even if you know what you should be doing, sometimes life moves in such speeds that it is hard to keep up. For me it's been because of motherhood; for you it might be a new job; for someone else it might be a move to a different city, or simply any change or difficulty, big or small.
How are your roots right now? Is there anything that you need to pay particular attention to? How are you sleeping? How are your stress levels? Are you moving regularly? Are you eating nutritious foods? Are you dedicating time to build or maintain your social network?
You might feel overwhelmed when reading these questions. Improving your lifestyle often seems daunting. Working together with a coach can provide you with a partner to help you implement the changes you know you need to make in order to grow, flourish and be your best self.
Enjoy the time with your family and loved ones and see you next year!
